uPVC windows and doors
uPVC is the most common frame we see. The frames last well, which is why it makes little sense to replace them when only the sealed unit has failed. A new unit is made to size, and the frame stays where it is.
Timber frames
Timber windows and doors have real character and are often worth keeping. They can be sensitive to how they are reglazed, so we take care to protect the frame. If you have an older property, tell us about it, because the thickness of the unit matters as well as its size.
Aluminium frames
Slim aluminium frames are common on patio doors, modern extensions and commercial premises. Replacing the units gives you clearer glass and can improve performance while leaving the frame and its clean lines untouched.
Common questions
How do I know if my frames are worth keeping?
If the frame opens, closes and locks properly and is not rotten or badly damaged, replacing only the glass is usually the better value. We will tell you honestly if we think otherwise.
