Broken or cracked window glass, made safe and replaced
A stone, a storm or a break-in can leave you with a dangerous gap in the house. We replace the broken pane with a new unit made to size, and you keep the frame.

What to do straight away
Keep people and pets away from the glass and do not try to pull out loose pieces by hand, because a cracked pane can give way without warning. If you can, take a photo for your insurer, then call us and tell us what has happened.
How we replace it
We measure the opening, make a new unit in our workshop and fit it into your existing frame. If only one pane of a double glazed unit has broken, the whole sealed unit is still replaced, because the seal cannot be remade on site.
It is also a good moment to think about the type of glass. We can supply toughened or laminated safety glass, and glass with a Low E coating for better heat retention, so you can improve a window as well as repair it.
Common questions
Is a crack in one pane of double glazing a problem if the other pane is intact?
Yes. Once one pane has cracked the seal is compromised, and moisture will usually get in and mist the unit. The whole sealed unit should be replaced.
Do you do emergency boarding up?
Yes, we offer emergency call-out and boarding up. Please phone us rather than using the form so that we can respond as soon as possible.
